Dear Mother Earth

Dear Mother Earth,
I wonder, are you upset?

I wonder, Mother Earth, as many do, is this your protest?
I wonder, Mother Earth, is this you putting your foot down,
saying "No."
I wonder, Mother Earth, do you wish to make your voice heard,
to make the people of your beloved planet listen for once.
I wonder so eagerly, Mother Earth, are you preparing us for what is to come, for what lies ahead, that this planet cannot take anymore pain and suffering from us.
I wonder, Mother Earth, if this is a wake-up call.
I wonder, will you ever forgive us for the wrongs we have made.
Maybe sometimes you wonder, Mother Earth, if the planet did not smile more when it had only animals to care for, animals not capable of making inventions, machines that would end the existence of your beloved Earth.
I wonder Mother Earth, I wonder if you can forgive me for displeasing you, for ruining what you so carefully built. I wonder...
